The show was amazing. The killer music, lighting, crowd, and seriously all around electric atmosphere contributed to one hell of a good night. The 4,000 screaming fans didn't hurt either!  I'm not going to waste anymore time trying to describe it.  Check it out for youself in the slideshow and videos taken from my iPhone. Our videos are on Vimeo converting as we speak. As soon as they are done i'll be sure to update the blog with links.

NEW FEATURE - Play Songs From Within Your Headlines

We've wanted this, and we know you have too! Now we can all play the music our friends, artists and fans are discovering from within your headlines.

Tracking is a very social way of keeping track of the artists you discover on Webceleb. If you're unfamiliar with how tracking works, definitely check out the previous blog post. Today, headlines have been beefed up to deliver you more rich content. If you're like us, and you probably are if you're using Webceleb or reading this post, music is freaking awesome. And discovering music is sometimes a labor of love. Well, today it just got a lot easier.  Anytime someone you're tracking shows love for a song, comments on a song, or buys a song, you will see the alert appear in your headlines in real-time. Accompanying the alert, you will find a thumbnail and play button for the song they've discovered. Now, without leaving the page you can listen to the song and decide if they've found the next weekend anthem...

See the pics above for examples highlighted in red...

Cheers,

The Webceleb Team

Azucar @ El Dorado Was Amazing!

If you haven't heard of Azucar yet and you're a San Diegan.... YOU WILL or YOU NEED TOO NOW...

The hybrid latin band is composed of two highly acclaimed DJs with residencies all around San Diego who decided to form a band... The musicians accompanying them are exceptionally talented as well, and they definitely have the high energy WOW factor.  They closed their last song of the night last Wednesday starting with "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" mixing the turn tables early into the beat of "Girls" by Beastie Boys while the band was still playing chords from the previous song... And as the crowd started to explode they finished with "You Make Me Wanna Shout." Flat out amazing. This blog will never do it justice. Webceleb is working with David Villafana to book them to perform at Sound Wave 9/5 so stay tuned!!

Here's a "Getting to know the band- Azucar" video curtesy of Villafana who promotes music, is a music journalist, and dances his ass off. Thx, David!!

1st Webceleb Local Showcase @ Sound Wave- DevOcean, Sandollar & Friction Monster

Webceleb is NOW BOOKING local showcases every Sunday in partnership with Wave House Concerts at the newly renovated Sound Wave Music Hall.

It was your concert, your lineup, you decided...

And damn, the San Diego music fans let their voice be heard loud and clear. A couple Thursdays ago, 7/15/10 to be specific, the Sound Wave Music Hall flooded with people ready to jam out to some good music on Mission Beach. Three bands, DevOcean - a rock/ska/reggae band from Oceanside, Sandollar - a beach rock band from SD, and Friction Monster - an indie rock band from SD, all took the stage and instantly started to electrify the crowd.  We were blown away as were many of the fans who helped pack the house.

With the sun setting in the distance, it was time to get down. If you love supporting local music, you missed one hell of a killer show. Well over 300 people gathered from all around San Diego to drop their corporate headaches, release the tension from a long work day, let their hair down, and put down a cold one at one of SD's premeir live music venues.

The bands each played approximately 1 hr sets. Friction Monster opened up with some hardcore indie rock and a badass Pixies cover, setting the vibe for one hell of a concert. Friction Monster's Rick Parkhurst later told us, "From start to finish the night was rocking, and totally awesome. Great music, great people, and an all around great show."  Sandollar was up next and blew the crowd away. The energy from the keyboard and funky bass was heard on the beach driving in passerbys left and right.  And to end the night, DevOcean put on a sweet performance with a couple Sublime covers to get the crowd moving and shaking.

Mike Sebourn and the guys from DevOcean reached out to give us their thoughts on the show: "The approach that webceleb.com takes to guarantee a good turn out by letting the fans buy tickets to their favorite local artists shows is awesome in that the fans can buy tickets online, which is really convienient. It helps the artist in that it gives another avenue to promote themselves where all media is in the same place, and also allows them to reach out to new fans, expanding their base. Their amped attitude and love for music makes them a great partner to work with because they love music and love what they do. The show was awesome as the Sound Wave provided real quality sound/lighting management in a really laid back setting that helped us rock the socks off mission beach. Not to mention the equipment list, nice house gear. We had so much fun hanging out with these guys and the feedback we got was amazing. Webceleb.com has a really cool thing going and we are looking forward to collaborating with them in the future as we continue to drop bombs on SoCal!"
